WHAT IS AAHV?

 

     The Association of Arizona Healthcare Volunteers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for broadening leadership skills, and to enhancing knowledge of volunteerism through education, resources and support, communication, leadership development, and healthcare community activism. All Arizona healthcare auxiliaries, service leagues, guilds, and volunteer services are eligible for membership; there is no personal, individual membership.

     AAHV is operated by a Board of Directors with four elected officers, regionally-elected regional chairs, and appointed committee chairs.

      AAHV's nonprofit corporation Federal Tax ID Number is 20-1352090. AAHV is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

 

AAHV FUNCTIONS

 

     AAHV serves to fulfill the following purposes in Arizona's healthcare volunteer community:
  • to offer education and vitalization to the members of participating healthcare volunteer groups.
  • to offer assistance and support in the organization and operation of local healthcare volunteer groups.
  • to offer education in and development of leadership skills to health-care volunteers in Arizona.
  • to act as a communications conduit of state and national healthcare legislation and trends to its members.
  • to provide a networking organization for support, inspiration, and motivation among healthcare volunteers.
  • to act as a coordinating body for its member groups.
  • to promote community awareness about the role of healthcare volunteers.
  • to assist in facilitating awareness of JCAHO/ OSHA/HIPAA criteria and standards as they apply to healthcare organizations and volunteers.
  • to support the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA), and the Arizona Society of Volunteer Administrators in Healthcare (AzSVAH).
  • to enhance quality healthcare for all the people of Arizona through volunteer service to our individual healthcare facilities.
